Reviewed September 27, 2026. “Speed” numbers come from each company’s marketing — not a guarantee. Approval time, how you submit, your bank, invoice rules, and the contract can all change when money actually hits.

Where each one stands out

These notes are based on what each company publishes. They are not endorsements. Always read the contract.

OTR Solutions

Best fit: broker nonpayment protection

OTR leans hard on non-recourse protection, plus always-on funding and dedicated support.

  • They offer both recourse and non-recourse.
  • They advertise no monthly volume minimum.
  • Broker credit tools and a mobile account can cut back-office work.
Verify before signing: which unpaid-broker cases they cover, what stays on you, and any notice period or exit fee.

Triumph

Best fit: selective invoice use

Triumph advertises same-day funding, no minimums, no reserves, free broker credit checks, and the option to pick which loads to factor.

  • Factoring only some invoices can help when cash flow is uneven.
  • Fuel advances are part of what they advertise.
  • Their portal helps with payments and paperwork.
Verify before signing: the real funding cutoff, transfer fees, recourse wording, and whether picking invoices changes your rate.

RTS Financial

Best fit: app-led operations

RTS focuses on a phone app for uploading invoices and managing money, with funding advertised in 24 hours or less.

  • Good if you handle paperwork from the road.
  • They mainly look at the customer invoice — not a traditional loan.
  • They also offer other trucking finance services.
Verify before signing: any minimum volume, contract length, reserve %, ACH/wire fees, and what happens to the rate if an invoice ages.

eCapital

Best fit: factoring plus fuel and fleet tools

eCapital sells a wider package: factoring, credit checks, mobile tools, support, and optional fuel perks.

  • They offer both recourse and non-recourse.
  • They have separate paths for owner-operators and fleets.
  • They advertise funding as fast as one hour.
Verify before signing: whether the fastest transfer costs extra, if you must buy a bundle, how reserves work, and any long-term lock-in.
One rule:

Look at the full cost of the deal, not just the advertised factor rate. Transfer fees, aging fees, fuel-card rules, minimums, reserves, and exit fees can raise the real price.

How to compare quotes

Give every company the same numbers so the quotes line up.

01

Define the invoices

Tell them your average monthly volume, average invoice size, who you haul for, and how long they usually take to pay.

02

Request total pricing

Ask for the factor rate, transfer costs, minimums, reserves, aging fees, and every monthly or per-invoice fee.

03

Pressure-test recourse

Ask what happens if a broker pays late, disputes a load, goes under, or never pays.

04

Read the exit clause

Check how long you’re locked in, auto-renewal, how much notice you need, any exit fee, and how the UCC lien comes off.

Questions owner-operators ask

Short answers before you hand over an invoice.

Is freight factoring a loan?

Usually no. The factor buys eligible invoices and collects from the broker or shipper. The contract can still put risk on you through recourse, guarantees, reserves, liens, or buyback rules — read those carefully.

What is the difference between recourse and non-recourse factoring?

With recourse, you usually still owe the money if the customer doesn’t pay under the contract rules. Non-recourse can shift some of that risk to the factor, but what’s covered varies. “Non-recourse” does not mean every unpaid or disputed invoice is covered.

Should I choose the lowest quoted rate?

Not always. Add up the real cost using your actual invoice volume and how you take money out. A low advertised rate can lose to minimums, wire fees, aging fees, reserves, or a pricey cancellation clause.

What paperwork should I have ready?

You’ll often need business and authority info, ID, bank details, broker/customer info, invoices, rate confirmations, and proof of delivery. Each company asks for slightly different paperwork.

Does factoring guarantee every invoice will be funded?

No. They approve brokers and invoices under their own rules. A bad, disputed, duplicate, or ineligible invoice may not get funded.

About this site

Help comparing your options between delivering a load and getting paid.

This site helps owner-operators and small fleets compare freight factoring in plain English. We don’t crown one winner for every truck. We show the questions that separate a helpful cash-flow tool from a costly or locked-in contract.

We start with what each company publishes and link back when we can. If they don’t post a solid number, we say “quote-based.” Always get current written terms and read the full agreement before you assign invoices.

Independent

No company can buy the top spot. If we get paid later, we’ll say so next to that link.

Easy to check

We link claims so you can read the source and ask the company clear follow-up questions.

Honest about what we know

If terms change by carrier, we label them quote-based instead of inventing a number that may not fit you.
